Weaving Wyrd

Deepening Intuition and Energy Work with Embodied Movement

We welcome you to join Volvas Stephanie Ingersoll and Jaime Dawson MA, PHD for a one of a kind movement workshop to embody your magic and expand your spiritual connection. Using Nordic tradition, somatic therapeutic movement, and a little yoga, Stephanie and Jaime guide participants through intuitive movement to expand and learn how to weave your wyrd. We will play with energy through movement, learn how to move fate threads, feel other people's energy, and other skills leading up to a dance with spirit, movement of your choice with a god, guide, or ancestor of your calling. We will conclude our workshop with gentle Galdr sound therapy and invitation for meditation.

Conceived through vision, study, passion, and need from the community, Stephanie and Jaime co-created this truly one of a kind event to help those who are wanting to deepen their personal spiritual practices and to explore the world of Nordic and Germanic energy work. Embodied Movement is a deep passion for both Stephanie and Jaime and through that excitement and drive, we have created a truly unique and transformative experience for all people from all walks of life.

No prior movement experience necessary to attend. Chair modifications will be available. Attendees are encouraged to dress in clothing that is easy to move in and wear shoes that are easy to take off. We also welcome attendees to bring a journal, a pillow or yoga mat if you wish to sit on the ground, and a scarf or shawl.

Weaving Wyrd is taking a temporary break while the coordinators find new locations and times for this event. Check back soon for 2025 and 2026 dates.

If this is your first time attending…

Weaving Wyrd is a three hour workshop with a lot of movement. All bodies from all walks of life are welcome to participate in whatever capacity they wish to. We take multiple breaks, we have refreshments (snacks and water), chair modifications, and more to be able to accommodate. Our workshop is broken into three major parts, to allow time to warm up the mind, body, and spirit. Time for more involved energy work and movement. All leading up to a dance with spirit, where we invite participants to dance with a god, guide, or ancestor. We also provide space and opportunity for art making for those who wish to draw, color, or create their experiences in art form.

Our movement is guided by music, verbal cues, and physical demonstrations. We encourage paring up and working with others to help feel into other people’s energy with movement. We also highly encourage participants to take off their socks and shoes (unless needed for medical reasons) to prevent injury or accidents.

We close our event with restorative Galdr (Nordic tradition of moving energy through singing and chanting) and drumming while participants cool down feeling more into the body, how the workshop has affected their energy, and maybe having more connection with the god, guide, or ancestor they chose to dance with earlier.

This is not a high, medium, or low energy workshop. We created this event to be able to give permission to participate in whatever energy level attendees are feeling individually.

Jaime and Stephanie both take a trauma informed approach to this workshop as movement can feel very vulnerable or triggering in the body. While this is not a group movement therapy session, we honor that this work can be very therapeutic. We both are available to help support attendees throughout this experience to ensure that you feel safe in our space.
