Wyrd Wanderings

Weaving Runic Wisdom in Sacred Ceremony

Quick Link to Pay for your Ticket in Advance

We welcome you to join us as we co-create the living tradition of Galdr, Runic Trance, and Heathen Magic.

Wyrd Wanderings was founded in 2016 to provide safe Heathen community to learn and explore the runes in sacred space. Today, we expand on our living traditions honoring our queer roots, ecstatic trance practices, and deep runic knowledge. Together, we weave intentions, create art, and experience the runes through song and drumbeat.

You are welcome to come, experience, and honor your own spiritual path in your own way. Whether you want to meditate, dance, enjoy the somatic sound healing experience of Galdr, or simply learn more about the runes, you are welcome exactly as you are in our space.

We also welcome you to join our Discord Server to stay connected with us, ask questions, and share your experiences with us until we meet again.

Wyrd Wanderings is on a temporary break as the coordinators are finding new locations and extra offerings for this event. Please check back soon for the 2025 and 2026 dates.

If this is your first time joining us….

Thank you! We look forward to having you join us! Below is some introductory information that most people want to know when first attending. Also on this page are frequently asked questions that go into a little more information about our conduct and how we facilitate this event. If you still have questions after reading through this page, please do not hesitate to contact me to ask as well.

Wyrd Wanderings is facilitated by Seidkona Stephanie Ingersoll and Jaime Dawson MA, PHD. We have been working together since 2018 weaving our passion of Nordic and Germanic history and culture to make this event what it is today. We encourage first time attendees to come and simply experience this one of a kind event. Both Jaime and Stephanie come from trauma informed practices and provide transparency, disclosure, and honesty to ensure that your experience is both transformative and safe.

Tickets can be paid for in advance using the QR code or link to my Square payment page above. Sliding Scale is available or tickets are $15 each. You can also pay for your tickets at the door when you arrive. We accept cards and cash payment.

Wyrd Wanderings has three parts or segments.

  • We start with introductions, intention setting, pulling runes, learning and discussing the runes together, and weaving those meanings to our intentions we are setting.

    • You do not need to know anything about the runes to attend. We only pull three runes and we teach what they mean to everyone.

    • You do not have to share or talk at all. There will be many invitations to share or discuss your thoughts and experiences, but there no expectation for you to share if you do not want to.

  • After a short break we transition to Galdr, the main event. We turn off the overhead lights, turn on low lights for ambiance, and help guide people to meditation.

    • Galdr, the Nordic and Germanic tradition of singing and chanting while in trance, is very loud and can be very triggering to those who are sensitive to loud drumming or chanting. You do not have to stay for this portion. If you are not sure if you will be triggered or not, know that at any time you can leave. We just ask that you wait until we are finished before rejoining the group.

    • Jaime and Stephanie facilitate Galdr and we ask that if you want to drum or sing with us, please attend our Community Drum Circle before you attend Wyrd Wanderings so you can get a feel for how we sing and drum together first. Again, we highly recommend you come and just experience it if it is your first time attending.

    • We encourage people to meditate or just feel the runes being sung and chanted with drumming, but you are welcome to get up and move and dance if you feel called to do so.

  • Our last segment is sharing our experiences and creating bindrunes together to help bring your intentions into manifestation.

    • We help attendees ground, center, and facilitate exercises to share our experiences and explore what we saw, felt, and how it tied in with our original intention we started with at the beginning of the event.

Wyrd Wanderings is a three hour event and although we do take breaks, we highly encourage you to get up, move around, stretch, and take additional breaks as you need them. Although Jaime and I come from trauma informed practices, and Jaime is a full time mental health professional, this event is not group therapy. You are in charge of your mental, physical, and spiritual well being. Know that you can leave at any time and you will never be asked to do anything you do not want to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Exact Dates?

Please check back soon with 2025 and 2026 dates and locations.

What if I’m running late?

Late arrivals are disruptive to the flow of our ceremony, so if you know you are going to be late, please just let Jaime or Stephanie know. If you know you are going to be later than 20 mins, however, we will have already begun our ceremony and it is better to blame Loki and join us again next month. We highly recommend arriving early.

What if I am not a Norse Pagan or heathen?

We welcome all from all spiritual paths and practices and we encourage all to share and talk about their personal practices as well. Although our focus is on the Norse and Germanic gods and traditions, we do not exclude others from honoring their gods in our space. Ceremony is conducted with our gods and traditions and we do not bring in other paths into our workings out of respect to other paths and cultures.

What should I bring?

Items to take notes like a journal or notepad. Pillows, blankets, yoga mat, or any other objects that will help you to feel comfortable during meditation or if you wish to sit on the floor with us. Refreshments will be provided during our event, but since it is a three hour event, you are welcome to bring your own water and snacks in resealable containers if you would like. We also welcome attendees to bring sacred items that they would like to place on our community altar to be charged, cleansed, or cleared during our ceremony. You are also welcome to wear ceremonial garb, jewelry, cloaks and other items during ceremony as well.

What if I forget something there?

Contact Stephanie at RavenWisdomDivination@gmail.com and describe your lost item. If it was collected by us, we will coordinate a way to get your item back to you.

Can I bring items to Share with others?

Of course. If you bring in home made food, please be sure to include an ingredient list for people with sensitivities or allergies. Some people like to re-home books, alter items, decks, or other items and we have a space for that on our community table. Others like to share their crafts with others and you are more than welcome to bring those items to share with others as well. Know that these spaces are for gifting only and we do not have a merchant table for items to be sold or purchased.

Is this group safe for bipoc people?

Absolutely. Odin is the All-Father, not the some-father. We welcome all from all walks of life, but we do not tolerate hate, hate groups, those that try to excuse racism through spirituality, or anyone who would try and spread hate in this world. Wyrd Wanderings was founded to create safe Heathen communities and we will remove anyone who attempts to spread hate in our space.

Is this a seiðr group?

Yes and no. Jaime and Stephanie both practice Seiðr and we are in our roles as Völva when we conduct ceremony during Wyrd Wanderings doing Seið work. However, since Jamie and Stephanie are the only ones doing this work for ceremony, it is open for all to be apart of ceremony without having to do Seið work with us. We welcome all womxn, seiðmaðr, and other Seið workers as long as they respect that Jaime and Stephanie are the Völva of this space and ceremony.

Do you need help facilitating this group?

We always appreciate it when people ask us if they can volunteer to help assist us. We do not need help facilitating Wyrd Wanderings at this time but could always use a few extra hands to help clean up and put away chairs at the end of event.
