June 2023 Wyrd Wanderings Bindrune

Once a month we gather to deepen our connection to the runes, dive deep into the Well of Wyrd and speak our wishes to the Gods, Guides and Ancestors.

This month we pulled the runes Ansuz - Odin’s rune in his aspect of the Wanderer, Fehu - Freyja’s Rune, and Os - Loki’s rune from the Younger Futhark. The image of these two tricksters trying to talk Freyja into something to get her help keeps coming to mind and reminds me to see that humor in things we normally take seriously.

Ansuz and Os both have the same translation of ‘Mouth of God’ but how these two gods use their voice is very different. While Odin uses his inner voice by taking off his armor and laying down his weapons in order to become the Wanderer, to seek that wisdom from within, Loki the silver tounged god uses his voice to manipulate and often times as his weapon. Inner and outer speech, when to look inward and when to speak your truth are the lessons and wisdom from these two runes and these two gods.

And when Freyja is added to this picture, we see Freyja being the embodiment of both. Using her wisdom and magic, she knows how to travel the many different realms and uses her magic freely and always with wisdom and power.

Together these three runes call to those who are ready to take the next step. To embody their magic, personal power and speak their truth from wisdom from within.
