August 2023 Wyrd Wanderings

Once a month we gather to deepen our connection to the runes, sing with the ancestors and dive in deeper into the well of Wyrd.

This month we pulled the runes Nauidhiz - rune of the Norns, Eihwaz - rune of the transformation Yew tree, and Thurisaz - Thor’s rune of protection. Together these runes teach the importance of surrender and trust in order to embody change and transformation. Surrender is so different than submission where we lose our sense of self and identity, just giving up and saying do what you want. Surrender is trust. That we can trust ourselves, our gods, guides and ancestors to always be here to help us and get us through the transformation and the wisdom that comes through on the other side.

Transformation isn’t comfortable or enjoyable most of the time, but the only way for things to change is to allow for change to happen. To give ourselves the grace to pivot and adapt rather then feeling like we have failed because things did go according to the way we wanted things to go.

So I created this bindrune to help aid in finding that balance of trust, surrender and sovereignty.

Artistically, I wanted to add elements of balance, expansion and interconnection so that we can help see how everything is woven together to help us to trust why things are flowing the way they are.
